Hydroxycitric acid ((-)-HCA) is an important organic acid. It is a derivative of citric acid, which is contained in many natural hibiscus plants. Its molecular formula is C6H8O8.  It is a highly active molecule composed of polyols and polyacids, which can not only prepare health care products with high content of calcium salt and potassium salt in unit molecule, but also use its multi-active functional groups as prodrug intermediates of some new drugs.
