F500 ultrasonic fuel level sensor for gps tracking system can measure any liquid RS232 /485 and 0-5v F500 high-precision ultrasonic sensor Overview   The DF500 is one type of ultrasonic level sensor which measure the liquid level without drilling hole on container. The resolution is 1mm or 0.1%FS (the bigger value). It is applicable for the close container or open container which thickness is less than 5mm. Steel tank or plastic are applicable. Output is optional for 0-5V, RS232 and RS485, it is easy to integrate into the embedded system or SCADA. In order to realize remote monitoring, there are wireless version for DF500, including zigbee, Wifi, GPRS, 3G by working with our wireless module. Furthermore, GPS module is one optional for the DF500. Specification

Put between transducer and container for real installation after installation point found. Applicable for aluminium alloy, steel, plastic tank. Recommend loctite 380 glue.

  Installation Before installation, please check the sensor part list. Make sure that there is one LED display tool at your hand. Preparation & Cleaning Before installation, please make sure the tank is stable. If you want to install for vehicle tank, please make sure the vehicle power off and stop at flat ground. Otherwise, it will result in not accurate level value. For good result of installation, it is recommended to keep the liquid more than 5cm height. Because the sensor blind area is 5cm. Select one flat area on bottom of the container,clean the dirt on the flat area to make it smooth. If paint cover on the steel tank, please us the abrasive paper to remove the paint cover. After cleaning, there is no any part between the transducer and the bottom shell of the container.  Finding Installation Position Connect the LED display tool with the controller box as well as the transducer. Power on it. At the beginning, the LED display tool will show the level value in cm in one screen.   Press the two button at the same time for more than 3 seconds, it will come into the installation mode. In this mode, there are two screens. One is the level value in cm. The other is the signal status. For the signal status, it is 0-2. 2 is the best status, you can directly use this position for the final installation point. 1 is the secondary option when you can not find the signal status of 2 on this container. 0 is bad point to install, do not recommend to install on point with status 0. Put couplant on the surface of transducer. Then put it on the cleaning area where you want to install the sensor. Monitor the LED display tool value, and move the sensor slowly. If the status is 2, then you should mark this point. Also, please check the level value on the LED display tool with the real level height. If it is matched, then this point is the good position for installation. If you can not find the point with status 2, please monitor if you can find the point with status 1. If no status 2 position, status 1 position is also acceptable if the level value on the LED display is matched with the real value. If you only find the position with status 0, please check if the cleaning or couplant. If always status 0, please give up to install on this tank. The failed reason maybe the material of the container, the thickness of the container, the frame in the container, the dust in the bottom of the container. Installation with double faced tape   If it is aluminium alloy or plastic tank, please use the double faced tape to install. If the temperature is lower than 20℃, please warm the double faced tape firstly. Remove the top cover, and stick it on the transducer. While stick, please start from one side and then move forward. Do not leave air between the tape and the transducer (the aluminium alloy shell fo the transducer is not included). If there is air between the transducer and the tape, it maybe result in wrong level or not level. Remove the bottom cover of the double faced tape, and put it on the area you remarked on previous step. Monitor the status value on the LED display, make sure it is 2 (1 is secondary option if no 2), then fasten the transducer by the tape with the container bottom. Keep more than 1 minutes. The transducer protection part is recommended to install to avoid pound on the transducer. Then use the tie to fasten the transducer with the container. Then use the tie to fasten the transducer with the container. Installation with glue   Glue is applicable for steel tank as well as aluminium alloy or plastic tank. Put glue on the transducer surface, stick them on the position you remarked at previous step. Monitor the status value on the LED display, make sure it is 2 (1 is secondary option if no 2), fasten the transducer with the container. Keep it while the glue solid the transducer. Install the transducer protection part and fasten the transducer with the tie. Routing wire Use insulative tape to protect the connecting part of the transducer and the extended cable as well as the signal, power connection part. Fasten the cable around the device or vehicle, make sure to avoid the heat part. Protocol Baud Rate and Bits The default baud rate is 9600bps, one start bit, eight data bit, one stop bit, no checksum bit. Packet from Device to Sensor

Max is 100.00. Analog Value Interpretation For the analog output, it is 0-5V map to 0-100cm linearly. For example, if the output is 2.5V, then the level is 50cm. Please notified that, there is voltage lost on the cables. So if the controller box output 2.5V, maybe your device can only get 2.4V after the signal cable transmission.
