A1: Ultrafiltration is a variety of membrane filtration (MF, UF, NF, and RO), which is pressure driven process and physically remove bacteria, virus, suspended solids, colloids, coatings etc… The micron ratings arranges from 0.01μm to 0.001μm   Q2:What is ultrafiltration membrane pore size and micron ratings? A2: On most ultrafiltration manufacturers’ catalog, datasheet and manual, MWCO (Molecular Weight Cut Off) is used to show the characters rather than micron ratings. Here we list a simple but not very strict comparison.

  Q3: How to select Liquapure ultrafiltration membrane modules? A3: By material, PVC hollow fiber membrane MWCO is 100000(0.01μm) is suitable for ground water, surface water, tap water and treated grey water reuse and it is economical than other materials, PVDF hollow fiber membrane MWCO is 200000(0.1μm) is suitable for waste water, desalination.   By module dimension 4” diameter uf module is suitable for 1~5 m³/h, 6” diameter uf module is suitable for 1~20 m³/h, 8” diameter uf module is suitable for 5~50 m³/h, 10” diameter uf module is suitable for over 50 m³/h.   Q4: How to select ultrafiltration membrane flow configuration and operate mode? A4: PVC hollow fiber membrane is recommended for inside-out filtration as it is mechanical strength, PVDF hollow fiber membrane is recommended for outside-in filtration as its flexibility and suitable for air wash.
